Adding StarCraft 1 Units and Buildings
- set "sc1 = true" when using the unitbox (category then gets changed from "Units" to "StarCraft 1 Units", I just added that).
- set "sc1 = true" when using the building box (same as for unitbox)
- set "sc1 = true" on weapon, ability and upgrade boxes as well (category then becomes "StarCraft 1 Upgrades" etc automatically, make sure to remove the old [[Category: Upgrades]], not needed anymore). For this automatic category-assignment to work the article name must exactly match the specified name parameter, see Siege Mode (SC1).
- Keep adding the race category (terran, protoss, zerg)
- Skip "ranged/ground/air/armored", so they don't clutter those category pages.
- Skip "scrapped" (they still exist).
- Create new abilities and upgrades, don't use those from SC2 (they are never completely identical and we might want to modify the SC2 ones later.)
- If any unit, weapon, ability or upgrade has the exact same name as an SC1 equivalent, append " (SC1)" to its name.[/list]
For example check out Siege Tank (SC1) for how it could look. --shadowie 07:43, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Template Modifications
If you miss a specific value from a template, like Energy Cost from the WeaponTemplate, then add it to the list below and someone will add it. Or edit the template yourself (advanced).
- Template:AbilityBox - needs some way to have one ability across races with different icons (for things like Gather that have the same icon in a different color) - perhaps imaget, imagep, imagez tags and/or a flag like multirace = true, could automatically look look for e.g. Gather T.jpg or enable the imaget, imagep, imagez tags...it should automatically detect the race and show that, similar to how Template:GasIcon works. Alternatively, something that would be very cool but might need a wiki extension or something would be where you upload a grayscale image of it and it applies the filter there (could be too complex for what's needed).
- Hm, that is a tricky problem. How many abilities are affected? I can only think of Detection and Gather right now. Afaik there is no easy way to detect which categories the displayed page is a member of and show the correct race icon automatically. So I suggest we use the simple solution for now: In those Abilities that will have multiple race icons, add a second variable that can override the image name. And let's go with _Protoss _Zerg _Terran for the specific race icons (just let one race be the default one so we don't miss an image when accessing the ability directly). Look at Gather and Probe, Drone and SCV for how I did it now. Also, let's use PNG-images for those small icons, much better quality and they wont degenerate if we want to modify and resave. :)
- (I just quickly changed the hue for the Gather icons used for Protoss and Zerg now, probably not the correct UI colors so feel free to replace them). --shadowie 00:01, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, that works. Detection and Permanent Cloak come to mind. --Tiger0211 00:09, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

- Template:CharBox - (and related CharTemplate page and link to CharTemplate from the "templates" sidebar) a box like the unit, building, etc. boxes for Characters. Might have things in it similar to the SC Wikia's CharBox.
- Subgroup selection priority for units and buildings. What I already guess(due to patchnote 13): Warp Gate = 3. Gateway = 2. The higher the value, the higher the priority.

- Do we want to add Bashy? He's the D3 CM. If so, should we add all the WoW CM's? Sixen 08:52, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
