Sorry this took a bit to get up, had to play catch-up once I got back into town, /miss blizzcon sniffs...
Thursday, heading to Blizzard head quarters... I got to go while my bro Mr.Pibbs stayed behind. Met up with familiar faces from last year's blizzcon, from left to right: AJ Starcraft.org, Ryan SCLegacy, some other guy from SCLegacy or .org, Kennigit Teamliquid.net, moi, Pedro starcraft-esp, and Jon from Starcraft2forums. I believe Miles from sc2armory was taking the photo.

Last year the wolf statue wasn't finish, now it is... also around the statue are 8 tiles with Blizzard's core values, in no particular order:
The rest of the 2nd day I spent playing a lot of Starcraft 2 the only player to beat me was miles aka Gearvosh of sc2armory.com. He schooled me 1-4 but in my defense he has played SC2 way more then anyone else I know in the community outside of Blizzard.
My thoughts quickly on each race and learning a bit more about the Starcraft 2 meta game (Jon from starcraft 2 forums wrote up a much bigger review here).
The build we played at BlizzCon wasn't the latest latest; we heard that Roaches could move while burrowed in the latest build, the BlizzCon build they could just burrow, but not move. Remember the balance of SC2 is constantly changing...
ProtossTo me they still felt like the strongest race since I last played almost a year ago, early-mid game felt strong, but I didn't get too much of a change to try out their mid-late game.
Warpgates felt like a must have for any true Protoss player, the ability to warp-in units at a moments notice was sick. Cheap to get the upgrade, few seconds to convert the gateways and voila... ready for some warpin Warp-gates are balanced out because you really need a lot of warpgates to really get effective use out of them, since you can't queue up troops and just let 4 gates produce 30 units over time.
I have a feeling that in beta and even at the launch of Starcraft 2, hidden pylon rushing to warpgates will be a highly used strategy. So if you face a Protoss player, always scout your base when you can.
Stalkers felt week last BlizzCon, they seem a bit stronger with more identity this time around. Felt like they did the dragoons more justice.
Disruptors (aka the old Nullifier) are great to have early on too, I used Force Field a lot, both defensively and offensively - blocking in probes so they couldn't run away from getting killed and they hit air too!
I tried Colossi rushing in a few games, but they are so expensive and high up the tech tree that I really don't think that currently it's a feasible strat. Definitely not the same as old school Reaver rushing Did not get a chance to try out the Protoss air game, but I did built a Mothership and a couple of Carriers. The Mothership felt lil weak to me, both in use and ability to attack, Carriers felt strange, I believe they automatically came with 8 interceptors and their only upgrade was to shoot out interceptors out faster :p Terran & Zerg As a Protoss player I didn't play T or Z that much, but from the little that I did play them I felt that the Terran bionic play felt really strong, also drops with a fast tank + couple of Hellions could cause a lot of havoc The Zerg early game was ok, their mid-game felt strange... the balance devs even mentioned to me that the Zerg mid-late game needs the most work. Banelings could be detonated underground now for a nice "live" mine field effect, Roachs regen faster when burrowed, you needed Lair for Hydras. GeneralAll the maps we played on were noob friendly ie: all main bases had easy to defend ramps, hopefully Blizzard starts making some no-ramp maps as well. The only time I needed to get a 2nd expansion was when I basically had already won the game, I bet that changes as balance continues to tighten the game up. Unit selection I felt needed to be much tighter, by that I mean that the area that is selectable on certain units was too much. Example: You start off with 6 miners, I tried to select them individually to mine seperate patches and ended up constantly selecting more then one cause the selection was so sticky. This isn't that big an issue because of the new bad ass smooth as a babies butt pathing in SC2. Not a game issue, but the keyboards we played on had keys that were way too flat and close together for Starcraft, like Tasteless's competitive Starcraft keyboard article, the best keyboards for RTS games I think are ones with big sturdy keys that you can memories by feel. There was a lot of times I hit the wrong button constantly.
More PhotosI'll end the biggest post I've ever written on Starfeeder with some photos of the Post-BlizzCon after party at the Hilton lobby Hanging with Chris Metzen himself! The model for Jim Raynor...
