As you could see, there are lack of news these days, but if you browse the web and read about Blizzard, there can be signs that makes you think: SC2 release may not be far away.
What I'm going to write about is 100% speculation, but with some facts.
1. Blizzard's new expansion for World of Warcraft called Wrath of The Lich King
has just been released, so now they are focusing on Starcraft II for sure. No doubt that SC2 will be the next game Blizzard releases.
2. According to
Blizzplanet, the voice acting role of Jim Raynor and Kerrigan the Queen of Blades are now up for grabs, that indicates:

3. Blizzard job oppotunities page has been updated. As you can see, they are now looking for employees for SC2 for only 4 positions. Months ago this number was far more. There are 5 positions open for Battle.net, but this area is common with Diablo3, and a position like "User Experience Director" is the one that is needed near the end of the development process.
What you think is up to you, but seeing these signs, and being a bit positive (
what else could an SC2 addict be), if SC2 beta launches early 2009, we could have the game in our hands by summer, or as Blizzplanet thinks, it could happen even earlier.
Keep in mind, that the only thing that is for sure, that SC2 beta comes in 2009, as Chris Sigaty (lead producer for SC2) told at Blizzcon 2008.

i will keep my original thoughts, early 2009 from jenuarry to march there is going to be a multiplayer beta, and the final game will be arround summer they may try to release Just after the schools are finished, and not during the august or in deep summer that everybody takes some sort of vacations.
the 100% sure is that the Wings of Liberty will be released in 2009 no matter what! thats why the splited to 3 titles, otherwish they need it an other 3 years! the only good think on delaying is that Game Engine without too much tuning, will be playable again by the majority of existing computer-hardware.
conclusion i waited 11YEARS
Fuck, I CAN wait a little more!
p.s i have other great RTS games to keep me happy for now

but the sure think is we have to find a way later on and Crack the Beta as we did in w3 and be able to play sc2 for Months untill it comes out
to be honest i was playing offline Red Alert 3 Beta for 4 months when others thought after 1-2 months because they closed the online server, that was over
i would do the same for SC2 no Matter What! this game will ROCK our world once again. few online beta matches are not enought, especially when people do not enjoy the game but are in a constand fight to win the opponent...that sucks, i want to play with a AI offline or with a friend LAN or smandbox just to Test the units and there abilities, online beta testing doesnt allow that and i hope Blizzard will allow us to creat game with a single player only.
