I think there are legal hoops involved, the ticket having cash value. I've always wondered why sites don't restrict eligibility to already-registered users, though. Does that violate some Blizzard contest term? Or is the intent to draw users, some of whom may stick?

Out of curiosity, was this a Blizzard-funded contest or did you buy the tickets yourself, Shadowie?

It was Blizzard funded, and they stated that the contest should be open to everyone (i.e. we can't reward old members).

Requiring to join and send a PM was mostly a security measure anyway, to prevent cheating with multiple submissions. It was obvious from the start that a lot of people would join just to enter the raffle, and I see nothing wrong with that.

BlizzCon has never been in Paris. There was some event there that Blizz was at (WWI 07?).

Hey there, sounds like there are some hostile feelings toward the winners. I do visit this site everyday, I'm just too busy balancing life and studies this year, and just couldn't allocate time to be a part of this wonderful community. Yes, I did register after the contest was announced, as I could not pass up on the chance to win one of these. I tried to get tickets through the Blizzard Store but to no avail, and I never really expect myself to win anything from raffles. I am sorry to those I have upset and feel as if I have stolen your chance of winning. I am just one of many, many people who registered, and the random draw was as fair as fairness can get. Still, I love this site, and love this community, and have always loved it ever since it launched. Thank you SC2Pod!

No one is upset my friend. It is only a ticket and there will be many more Blizzcons. If you like, we'd like to see your opnion on things in the future so we can have more feedback for Blizzard, but no one is telling you that you "have to post" now.

So enjoy your trip and make sure you take plenty of info down and mention SC2pod while you are there. We need more media coverage to get this site going.

Make that 3/3 of us got posts, the thing is with so many sites around I just never bumped into this one but it's now saved/bookmarked/enshrined and I'll do my best to give a report on Blizzcon along with whatever I can add as a member of the site. I hope I can make myself a valuable member before I get banned for posting too much >.>

This. Hopefully we'll have beta by then, but if not I'd love all the factual info (stuff like numbers and other stuff that could go in the wiki, as opposed to e.g. opinions on strategies) you can possibly find. (As long as it's accurate.)
