We probably won't end beta until shortly before release, and traditionally we've tried to announce release dates about two months before release. I couldn't speculate how invites might ramp up or down when the beta finally comes to a close, it definitely is not coming to a close yet though.

This was bad information. They confused requirements to post in the forums to requirements to be able to opt-in. They're not the same.

To opt-in you need to create a Battle.net account and attach any Blizzard title that has a CD-Key you can attach. If you're opted in then that means you do have a g [...]

Because that's just the rule for World of Warcraft licenses posting on the forums, has been since release, and it carried over to the Diablo III site since it's the same underlying Battle.net system.

No your SC2 character and record is there to stay. The idea is that you should be tracking your play experience and improvement over the years. You'd need to buy a new license to have a fresh profile.

Diablo II keys simply aren't secure (not counting the fact that the new Battle.net platform doesn't even know how to talk to the Diablo II service). Since we don't have a beta yet we have no beta posters, so to have some people able to interact on the site we opened it up to people with WoW and SC2 [...]

I will probably end up having two (or more) of the same class leveling, since I'll have a character that I play with my co-workers, and then a different character that I play with family, and then a different character that I play alongside my best friend, etc.

All monsters in Inferno will be 61, which is probably sufficient, but we're leaving it open if we need to tweak some higher.

Well, no, if you're banned from the WoW of SC2 forums (or D3 forums for that matter) you'd need to buy the game again and make a new account to post again. We ban on the license level, not IP.
